ADMIRERS Greet Music Sensation Rehman On His 52nd Birth Day

Music lovers and musicologists  from across the world have  greeted  Chennai born composer-singer AR Rahman, Oscar and  Grammy Winner, on the occasion of his 52nd  birthday  with music industry declaring  him as a source  of inspiration for the present and coming generations. Several members from the Indian music industry on January 6 conveyed their “inspiration”, love and happiness through Twitter and other social platforms besides some of them paying tribute to him personally with flowers and bouquets. They said in unison the maestro has been flattering music lovers for over three decades with soulfoul and dance songs like “Tu hi re”, “Urvasi Urvasi” and “Jai Ho”.Says  Neeti Mohan on Twitter :  Dearest Sir, wishing you a very happy birthday. These are excellent cocktail to appease music lovers. Affectingly called Mozart of Chennai, he is a child prodigy. Rahman was born in a Hindu family as Dileep Kumar. At the age of 23, the music composer converted to Islam   after he met his spiritual guru, Qadri Islam. Before he stepped in the entertainment industry as a professional, he was seen on Doordarshan’s Wonder Balloon as a kid. The show made him famous as played 4 keyboards simultaneously. His composer and conductor father died when .Rahman was young almost penniless. Hence he had to fight poverty as he grew Noted film maker Mani Ratnam spotted talented Rahman and began filming Tamil movie in Roja  in 1992. He got a sum of 25, 000 INR, considered a princely sum in those days. He became the recipient of National Film Award along with huge success, popularity and admiration. And there is no looking back for him since the successful Tamil movie.
