JANATA Dal –United Rules out CM Nitish Kumar’s Resignation For Govt Funded Shelter Home Rape Scandal
BIHAR’s ruling Janata Dal United has turned demand for resignation of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for the Muzaffarpur shelter home sex scandal. Party’s Spokesman K C Tyagi in Delhi on Sunday slammed Opposition leader in the state assembly Tejaswi Yadav for maligning the image of the state by organising a rally at New Delhi’s Janta Mantar .AICC President Rahul Gandhi, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and leaders of the Left parties participated in the Nitish Kumar bashing rally. The RJD leader used the rally as a photo-opp even after the Chief Minister had handed over the case to CBI and recommending high court monitored probe, he added .In Patna , Nitish Kumar said that some “select” people were focusing on negative things and called for taking note of positive developments in the state. Inaugurating a scheme on sustainable livelihood, Kumar said that nobody guilty of wrongdoing in the shelter home nor would those trying to protect them be spared. The case is being investigated by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) .They would be sent behind bars, he said adding that his government was not known to compromise with wrongdoers. However, “if you wish to hurl abuse at me, go ahead. We would continue doing our good work”.He urged the people to also take note of positive things happening around them in the state and pointed out that already over eight lakh self help groups have been formed in the state and about 96 lakh women have become associated with them. Referring to Saturday’s demonstration at Delhi hosted by RJD Kumar sarcastically remarked that it was a “Friendship Day gathering” of disparate opposition groups to derive political mileage. The Ruling Janta Dal (United) has asserted that there is no question of Nitish Kumar’s resignation.”We are ready for a Supreme Court-monitored probe into it” , it said.“How can rape of young girls which has shamed us could be an issue for opposition parties to unite against the NDA government and the Nitish Kumar-led government in Bihar and demand his resignation. This politics over hapless victims in Bihar is the most unfortunate thing,” Tyagi said .Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das termed on Sunday as “dirty politics”, the protest by political parties in Delhi over the alleged sexual abuse of young girls at a shelter-home in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur, saying it lacked genuine concern for the victims. .
