KCR Sworn In As Telangana CM For Second Term In A Row

KALVAKUNTALA Chandrasekhar, Rao better known and abbreviated as KCR, has assumed office as Chief Minister of Telangana for the second term after he was sworn in by Governor ESL Narasimhan on Thursday at Hyderabad. Rao, ,64 ,the first Chief Minister of Telangana, a new state formed by the division of Andhra Pradesh in 2014 and is Founder of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, a regional party. He has been re-elected from the Gajwel constituency of Siddipet District in Telangana.. He took oath as the first Chief Minister of the new state of Telangana on 2 June 2014. He went for early elections in 2018, when his cabinet recommended dissolution of the 119 -member the legislative lower house, six months before the completion of his term. Governor Narasimhan administered the oath of office and secrecy to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader at a ceremony held at Raj Bhavan. Mohammed Mahmood Ali, a member of Telangana Legislative Council, also took oath as a Minister.Ali, who was Deputy Chief Minister in the previous cabinet, is likely to retain the same post.KCR is likely to expand his cabinet next week. The TRS retained power by winning 88 seats in the 119-member Assembly. he Yadadri temple chief priest said the muhurat of 1.24 pm was fixed so that Mr Rao would get raja yoga and immense power to rule the state without obstacles. He said the time on the sixth day of Hindu month of Margasira (Thursday) was auspicious. The chief priest said “During this period, all the Grahas meaning planets are in good position for the Chief Minister and they will bring him good luck in whatever he does.” Narasimhan administered the oath to KCR in Telugu and Mahmood Ali in Urdu. Both took oath in the name of God.  Rao had earlier decided to take the oath alone but changed his mind on Thursday morning and invited Mr Ali to take the oath with him.(image courtesy to The Hindu)
