KHATTAR will be sworn in tomorrow as Haryana CM

Manohar Lal Khattar,65, who headed BJP Government in Haryana for five years, was on Saturday, October 26, invited by Governor Satyadev Narain Arya to form government .He will take oath tomorrow. He was accompanied by JJP Legislative party Leader Dushyant Chautala. On Friday,  a deal was struck between BJP and  JJP in Delhi  by the saffron party’s  high command headed by Home Minister Amit Shah and Jagat Prakash Nadda, BJP’s Working President, for power sharing .As per the agreement with Jannayak Janata Party, its ten MLAs will support the BJP to form coalition government. BJP could not get the magic number of 46 in the 90-member state assembly. The Saffron party has won 40 seats in the just concluded assembly elections. He has submitted a list of 57 MLAs who support him. They include ten JJP and seven Independents besides 40 BJP MLAs.INC has won 31 seats. It will be the only major opposition party in the assembly and state. Dushyant Chautala, 31, President of JJP, will be Deputy Chief Minister. He was   Member of the 16th Lok Sabha. Meanwhile, BJP has decided not to seek support of controversial MLA Gopal Kanda. He was jailed for 17 months for abetment to the suicide of an air hostess who worked for his now defunct airlines. It may be recalled that Khattar is a lifelong bachelor. He worked as a full-time Pracharak for 14 years before moving to BJP  in 1994. During 2000–2014, Khattar was Organizational General Secretary of the BJP in Haryana. He was the Chairman of BJP’s Haryana Election Campaign Committee for 2014 Lok Sabha Elections. His website says Khattar was born in Baniyani village of Kalanaur Tehsil in Rohtak district .His father, Harbans Lal Khattar, migrated to Haryana from Jhang district of West Punjab Pakistan following Partition of India in 1947. His family initially settled in the Banyani village of Rohtak district and took up farming. Khattar completed his matriculation from Pandit Neki Ram Sharma Government College at Rohtak and moved to Delhi and ran a shop near Sadar Bazar while completing his bachelor’s degree from Delhi University.(edited by PK Chakravarty)
