LALU Yadav Admitted To Mumbai’s Asian Heart Institute

THE Jharkhand High Court on Friday extended provisional bail of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad by six months for treatment. The former Union Railway Minister and Bihar Chief Minister  has been convicted in four fodder scam cases since 2013 and is serving a 14 year sentence in the latest case. Justice Apresh Kumar extended his bail till August 14. On May 11, 70 –year-old Lalu Prasad was granted six weeks provisional bail for treatment in Mumbai, and the relief was subsequently extended till July 3. He is lodged in the Birsa Munda Jail since December 23, 2017 after conviction by a Central Bureau of Investigation court at Ranchi in a fodder scam case relating to fraudulent withdrawals from the Domkal Treasury. He was admitted to RIMS at Ranchi on March 17 following complaints of uneasiness. He was also later sent to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences at New Delhi for treatment and returned to jail on May 1 after being discharged.  The RJD supremo has been admitted to Mumbai’s Asian Hearth Institute.CBI had had opposed extension of his plea for bail saying his treatment could be done in Ranchi’s RIMS Hospital.
