PM Modi assures the nation ‘’WE WILL DEFINITELY WIN THE Battle AGAINST CORONAVIRUS’’

Prime Minister Narendra urges the people for forgiveness for the 21 -day nationwide lockdown till April 14 saying there is no other option to fight the dreaded novel coronavirus spreading across several nations including India.’’ I apologize for taking these harsh steps which have caused difficulties in your lives, especially the poor people. I know some of you would be angry with me also’’. But these tough measures were needed to win this battle: PM Modi said asserting that India will definitely win the battle against the dreaded virus. He complimented the front-line workers in the fight as well as countless workers providing essential services to the people. Speaking to the nation through MAAN KI BAAT monthly program on All India Radio on Sunday, April 29, for the first time since he announced the measure five days ago, PM Modi said the frontline workers are ensuring the country doesn’t come to a complete standstill due to the measure  and reminded the nation of the an ancient Indian adage that means an illness and its scourge should be nipped in the bud because when it becomes incurable with passage of time its treatment is very difficult. He termed as “unfortunate” the ill-treatment of some of the suspected coronavirus carriers under home quarantine. “I am greatly pained to learn of these instances. This is very unfortunate. We need to understand that in the current circumstances, we need to ensure social distance, not human or emotional distance. These people are not criminals, ” he said adding these people are merely suspected to be infected with the virus. “These people have isolated and quarantined themselves to protect other people from getting infected.” “we will definitely win the battle” against the coronavirus menace that has claimed 25 lives in India so far. You had to undergo problems I understand but there is no other way out to fight the coronavirus,” he said. “But this is a battle for life and death. “Coronavirus is bent on killing people, therefore, entire humanity must unite and resolve to eliminate it,” he said in the program and featuring two former coronavirus patients and a medic it.
