PRIYANKA Chaturvedi Joins Shiv Sena after Quitting As AICC’s National Spokesperson
MUMBAI born and educated Priyanka Chaturvedi, 39, has quit as the most visible and vocal Spokesperson of the INC and joined Shiv Sena amidst ongoing Lok Sabha poll for the formation of the new government. She was welcomed as a Member of the Shiv Sena by its President Uddhav Thackeray on Friday. She is the second INC Spokesperson to say good bye to the party after Tom Vadakkan based in Delhi has moved to the Bharatiya Janata Party .The media cell convenor of India’s oldest political party , Priyanka Chaturvedi quit the party on Thursday evening, a day after she had gone public with her agony that the party has reinstated the cadres who had misbehaved with her some days in Mathura while briefing newspersons on the party’s stance on the Rafael Jet deal . After quitting all the posts in the party, Chaturvedi sent her resignation to the party’s top brass. There is no confirmation that her resignation has been accepted. She also removed from her introduction on her Twitter account about the posts she held in the party. The party which had suspended those workers reinstated them on April 15. She was also columnist for Tehelka, Daily News and Analysis and Firstpost. As a trustee of two NGOs, she works to promote children’s education, women’s empowerment and health.
