Rajkumar Hirani, Noted Film Maker, accused Of Sexual Assault during Post Production Of Sanju: He Denies Allegation

BOLLYWOOD    Is yet to react in unison to the accusation that director-screen writer Rajkumar Hirani had allegedly sexually assaulted his co-worker at his production house during post production of his latest movie  Sonju.“Despite my protest, he committed the crime. I had  to keep quiet as my father  was terminally  ill and  I cannot  afford to lose the job, she said in an email to the  56 years old  Hirnani’s spouse and others. Her allegation is that the award winning filmmaker abused her over a period of six months between March and September 2018 during filming of Sanju, HuffPost has reported. The allegations have been categorically denied by the filmmaker in a statement. “I was completely shocked when these allegations were brought to my notice about two months ago. I had suggested immediately that it is essential to take this matter to any committee or any legal body. The complainant has chosen to go to the media instead. I want to strongly state that this is a false, malicious and mischievous story being spread with the sole intention of destroying my reputation,” the filmmaker said in a statement. Sonam Kapoor’s Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga has deleted Hirnani’s name from the posters as co-producer. The story is about a family drama that deals with same-sex romance. It was produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Rajkumar Hirani. ajkumar Hirani is the highest grossing director in Bollywood right now .His last film Sanju  has grossed over INR 300 crore at the box office and was the highest grossing Hindi film of 2018. His name would have added a big brand value to Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga. The HuffPost reports Hirani’s co-worker wrote an email to Sanju producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra, his wife and film critic Anupama Chopra and Abhijat Joshi, screenwriter of Sanju alleging that Hirani had assaulted her during the post-production of the film, which released last year. “I remember forming these words on my lips – “Sir. This is wrong… because of this power structure. You being the absolute power and me being a mere assistant, a nobody- I will never be able to express myself to you. My mind, body and heart were grossly violated that night and for the next 6 months,” the email read. In an interview to HuffPost, the woman said that she had “no other choice but to be polite to him” because her job was at stake. “I had no choice but to be polite to him. I was worried that if I left midway, it would be impossible to find another job in this industry if he were to speak badly about my work,” the woman said. “Because if Hirani said I wasn’t good, everybody would listen. My future would be in jeopardy,” she added. Hirani’s lawyer also told HuffPost that the allegations were “false and completely unjustified”. “At the outset, our client states that the allegations made against him are false, mischievous, scandalous, motivated and defamatory,” the statement read. Hirani’s lawyers also shared printouts of the text messages shared between the filmmaker and the complainant over the period of six months. “These communications establish that the allegations made against our client to you that have given rise to your queries are false and completely unjustified.”After the allegations against Rajkumar Hirani came to fore, his name has been dropped from the posters of Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, HuffPost reported. Hirani, alumnus of Pune based Film and Television Institute of India whose all movies are commercially hit, was the co-producer of the film, starring Sonam Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Rajkumar Rao and Juhi Chawla. And hence, film buffs wonder as why his name has been removed from the poster of the movie (image courtesy to Amar Ujala).
