RAJNATH Singh: Indian Military Is capable To Thwart Any Terror Attacks

UNION Minister  for  Home  Rajnath Singh has accused Pakistan of “sponsoring terror” in Jammu and Kashmir and said the neighbouring country  should not be forgetful that Indian  military is  capable of thwarting any terror attack. Chairing the 12th Standing Committee meeting of the Inter-State Council (Central) in Lucknow on Monday, Rajnath Singh said that there was no doubt that Pakistan was behind all forms of terror in Jammu and Kashmir. Targeting the opposition parties on the Rafale deal, the veteran BJP leader from Uttar Pradesh said they were raising non-issues as they were bereft of any worthwhile cause. At the meeting, the Minister underlined the need for better and closer coordination between state governments and the Centre and said it was for this reason that there had been two meetings of the council in the last four years. He reiterated the Modi government’s commitment to promote cooperative federalism.  Chief Minister Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath, Trivendra Singh Rawat his counterpart of Uttarakhand and the Home Ministers of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh were present at the meeting. Among other subjects they reportedly discussed as to how Maoist threat in Chhattisgarh should be dealt with. The Standing Committee will finalise its recommendations,” the statement said.The Central government on April 27, 2007 constituted the Punchhi Commission under the chairmanship of former Chief Justice Madan Mohan Punchhi to look into the new issues of Centre-state relations keeping in view the changes that have taken place in the polity and economy. The meet is expected to review the recommendations.
