RITA Bhaduri, Film & TV Actress, Passes away

RITA  Bhaduri , who starred in Hindi and Gujarati movies and several television serials,  has  passed away  in a Mumbai hospital  where  she was  undergoing  treatment for  kidney ailment. She was 62. Lucknow born Rita was an alumnus of Pune Indian Film and Television Institute and was a well-known actress of Gujarati film industry although her mother tongue was not Gujarati.  She had starred in 70 movies. She starred her career appearing in supporting roles in  Bollywood films during the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. She is most known for films like Sawan Ko Aane Do, a 1979 Rajshri Productions film and Raja (1995) for which she received a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She had a supporting role as Julie’s best friend in the hit film Julie in 1975 where the song “Yeh Ratien Nayi Purani” was picturized on her. Rita Bhaduri plays the role of grandmother in the ongoing serial Nimki Mukhiya. She was reportedly suffering from kidney-related illness for a long time, says The Hindustan Times. Bhaduri was admitted to Sujay Hospital in Mumbai for the past few days where she was undergoing dialysis on alternate days for the disease. Her 20 popular TV shows include ‘Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai’, ‘Kumkum’ and ‘Amanat’  besides   Star Bharat’s  ‘Nimki Mukhiya,  Ekk Nayi Pehchaan, Bible Ki Kahaniya.
