SHONALI Bose Directed THE SKY IS PINK Is Set To Be Released Theatrically Worldwide On 11 October.

KOLKATA born film maker Shonali Bose directed SKY IS PINK in Hindi which is produced by Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Madhu Chopra, Siddharth Roy Kapur and Ronnie Screwvala, has received applause in the just concluded Toronto film fest. After about three years, Priyanka Chopra appears in the Bollywood movie   along with Farhan Akhtar. Shonali Bose, Juhi Chaturvedi and Nilesh Maniyar have penned the screenplay. Shonali Bose, famed for making movies with off-beat storyline, first earned international reputation with her debut feature film Amu based on her own novel of the same name on horrendous massacre of Sikhs in Delhi in 1984. She came into limelight and Amu was given the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in English. The Sky Is Pink is her second feature film. Bose co-wrote and assisted her former husband Bedabrata Pain to direct the historical war film Chittagong released to positive reviews in 2012.THE SKY IS PINK is about one Chaudhary family narrated by their daughter, Aisha. She is terminally ill and takes time to tell the love story of her parents Aditi and Niren Chaudhary played by PeeCee and Farhan respectively. The Sky is Pink also chronicles the life of motivational speaker Aisha Chaudhry played by Zaira in the film.  Aisha was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis at a young age, and died at the age of 15.The film will show how the couple deal with their daughter’s illness, and how it threatens to tear them apart. Farhan Akhtar says any story that has universal human emotion gets wide admiration from the non-Diaspora audience. The Sky Is Pink was screened at Toronto International Film Festival on September 13. Gully Boy directed by Zoya Akhtar and produced by Farhan’s company Excel Entertainment, premiered at the 69th Berlin International Film Festival. Gully Boy has also been selected as India’s official entry for the 92nd Academy Awards. In the Toronto Film Fest, the cast of The SKY IS PINK was applauded for four-minutes. Besides, Farhan Akhtar and Priyanka Chopra, Zaira Wasim and Rohit Saraf play major roles. Movie-goers remain excited to see Priyanka Chopra’s come-back Bollywood movie with Shonali Bose’s The Sky Is Pink. The actress, who has been busy with promotions, has just shared the latest song from the film calling it her favourite track. The song is titled Pink Gulaabi Sky. Priyanka posted the song and wrote, “My most favourite song. She told IANS “This is a very special film based on a special real-life couple who thrive through extraordinary circumstances. I feel like in a cynical world today where we live our own lives, this film shows you what it can do when you have a supportive family”. Anyway, audience after setting through the movie will empathise with the Chaudhary Parivar.
