UTTAR Pradesh Will Be Open Defection Free By October 2: Yogi Adityanath

UTTAR Pradesh, India’s most populated state inhabited by about 23 crore divided into 75 districts, will become open defecation free (ODF) by October 2 this year.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has made the announcement about it after reviewing the program with the District Magisltayes at Lucknow last week .India’s Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi’s 149th birth anniversary will be observed on October 2, 2018 across the nation.

“The target is to make the state open defecation free by October 2, 2018. All the district magistrates must ensure that this target is achieved by the said date,” Adityanath told officials at a meeting in the state’s capital at Lucknow. He asked the district magistrates to take personal interest in completion of the task. Adequate funds have been provided for construction of toilets under the Swachh Bharat Mission, Adityanath said adding the task should be accelerated so that the target is achieved as scheduled .The chief minister also directed the district magistrates to ensure that illegal abattoirs are closed  and strict action is taken against those who will be found violation laws. CM Adityanath asked the district magistrates to continuously monitor the various development works and the law and order situation in their respective districts. The District Magistrates (DMs) had a special role in ensuring the success of the ‘Sanchari Rog Niyantran Abhiyan’ (Communicable Diseases Control Campaign) aimed at combating fatal disease like   encephalitis. The District Magistrates have been asked to undertake relief measures in flood-affected districts of the state to provide to basic necessities to the people.”We think of big Ideas but the basics problems should be accorded priority by our officials. Look at the plight of ladies in rural areas who lack napkins. These should be made available. Many young brilliliant girls drop out of educational institutions as they are forced to get married against their wishes .At times, I feel what many people have achieved is by sheer default by not providing level playing field to children in rural areas like, decent roads, electricity, water, decent transportation and purely merit based teachers who are passionate about teaching and not for earning livelihood .Our  rich culture was destroyed ,twisted by foreign by rulers and wealth being looted we have remained poor. “
