2 Persons nabbed In Connection With Recovery of 10K Fake Voters I cards in Bengaluru

TWO Persons have been arrested in connection with the recovery of about 10,000 fake voters’ I cards from a flat in Bengaluru’s Jalahalli area  under Rajarajeswari Nagar assembly  constituency , disclosing this  to media Karnataka’s Chief Electoral Officer Sanjiv Kumar said investigation continued. More arrests are likely in this connection, he added as BJP and the Congress blames each other for the scandal. He was certain that nobody has broken into The Election Commission’s system for committing the offence and no new voter ID cards have been made, he said.  “We are trying to reach the truth at the earliest. The BJP has accused Congress of orchestrating the racket to gain an advantage in the May 12 assembly polls. Ruling Congress has claimed that the flat belongs to a BJP-linked person. Meanwhile, the BJP also demanded cancellation of polling in Rajarajeshwari Nagar constituency. Results for the polls will be declared on May 15.CEO Sanjiv Kumar form 6A meant for application for inclusion of name in electoral roll by an overseas elector with counterfoils were found. Manjula was once associated with the BJP but was now with the Congress and demanded her immediate arrest, Javadekar said. BJP alleged that the apartment was linked to a lawmaker of the state’s ruling Congress. The Congress hit back, accusing the BJP of enacting a “drama” of raiding an apartment owned by a local BJP leader and planting “fake evidence”.
