CHINA providing medical kits to India : India -USA are cooperating bilaterally in combating coronavirus

CHINA is dispatching rapid anti-body test kits for quick detection of the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes Covid-19 disease as New Deli and Washington are bilaterally cooperating in containing the dreaded virus. The first lot of Rapid Antibody Tests and RNA Extraction Kits is likely to reach India in a day. In a tweet, India’s Ambassador to China, Vikram Misri said the medical kits were dispatched early on Thursday from Guangzhou Airport in southern China. India will soon get 650,000 rapid anti-body test kits from China  This comes at a time when the number of positive coronavirus cases in India has crossed the 12,000-mark and the death toll has crossed 400.In New Delhi on Wednesday, the Union Health Ministry declared  170 districts as Covid-19 hotspots and 207 districts as potential hotspots. Union Health Ministry  officials reiterated that there has been no community transmission of the disease in the country so far. Addressing the daily briefing on coronavirus situation in the country, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Health Lav Agarwal said that states have been asked to classify districts which have reported a higher number of cases as hotspots, the districts where cases have been reported as non-hotspots, and green zones where no cases have been reported. “Hotspots are those districts which are reporting a greater number of cases or where the rate of growth of Covid-19 cases is high,” Agarwal said. A detailed direction has been issued to states stating consolidated efforts are required to utilise this period of lockdown to curb the spread of the virus.
