DELHI Chief Minister Brushes Aside Report On Non-availability Of Space For Opening Mohalla Clinics Submitted By Officials

DELHI Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his bureaucrats are yet to act in tandem even after the Supreme Court of India has made it clear that he is empowered to take decision related to administration. He was not satisfied with reports about the availability of sites for the opening up more Mohalla Clinics, his one of the pet projects. Hence, Kejriwal visited sites to make an on the spot assessment. Kejriwal was stunned to find that there was sufficient space available for the commissioning of new clinics. He termed the reports sent to him about the feasibility of opening of new Mohalla clinics as not factual. After the announcement of establishments of new Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Mohalla Clinics, Kejriwal and Health Minister Satyender Jain on Friday inspected sites for constructions of new clinics in Paschim Vihar and Saraswati Vihar. Kejriwal inspected three sites — E Block, Saraswati Vihar, RBI Enclave and Paschim Vihar BG 6 — marked “non-feasible sites” by civil servants. The Delhi Government’s spokesperson says “Officials had marked many sites as non-feasible citing ‘space constraint’. The CM found huge empty space, much more than what was required to build Mohalla Clinics”. Annoyed for preparing such false reports, the CM upbraided officials who were accompanying him. Officials fumbled with words when confronted by the CM. “There is so much space here, where is the constraint?”, a visibly irritated Kejriwal said.“It seems there is something wrong with the inspection done. I have seen three sites today, all of them have space and the report submitted says there is no space,” Kejriwal  tweeted The Chief Minister has directed Principal Secretary (Health), and said, “It looks to me that most of the sites marked non-feasible are having enough space for Mohalla Clinics. Get them re-inspected and get them approved.“If there are still any ‘non-feasible’ site reports, I will again go for the inspection of such sites. This report seems to be totally wrong after all three non-feasible visited today have so much of space, an official quoted him as saying .
