Dr Subramaniam Swamy demands CBI probe into Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death

Subramanian Swamy

Senior Parliamentarian and activist Dr. Subramaniam Swamy has joined the chorus for  CBI investigation into Sushant Singh Rajput’s death at his Mumbai’s Bandra residence on June 14. He has pleaded with  Prime Minister Narendra Modi justifying his demand. In the letter, Swamy writes his ‘’sources have told him that Bollywood bigwigs with the help of dons in Dubai are trying to influence Mumbai Police to cover up this matter as voluntary suicide. You are well aware, I am sure, of the untimely death of film actor Mr. Sushant Singh Rajput. My associate in law, Mr. Ishkaran Bhandari, has done research on the circumstances of his alleged suicide that he is said to have committed. Although the Police are still investigating the circumstances after registering an FIR, I learn from my sources in Mumbai that many big names in the Bollywood film world with links to Dons in Dubai are seeking to ensure a cover-up is carried out by the Police so that voluntary suicide is concluded as the reason for the demise of Mr. Rajput. Therefore, I urge you as the Head of the Government of India, and with your known compassion for innocent people who are framed, that you may consider advising the Chief Minister of Maharashtra directly or through the governor to agree on a CBI enquiry. The Mumbai Police has already handed full with Coronavirus Pandemic issues and maintaining law and order under the circumstances. Hence, this laborious duty of conducting this enquiry where public credibility is being strained, a CBI enquiry would be the only way to retain public confidence”. The cause of the prima facie suicide case is being probed by the Mumbai Police. Several people close to the deceased actor hailing from Bihar have expressed dissatisfaction over the investigation. Although the final post-mortem report has confirmed that it is a clear case of suicide, many still suspect foul play in the actor’s death. Sushant Singh Rajput’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty today requested Home Minister Amit Shah for a CBI inquiry saying  “Only want to understand what pressures prompted him to take this step”. Confirming for the first time in public that she was Sushant Singh Rajput’s girlfriend,  she urged for a CBI inquiry into the late actor’s death on a social media post addressed to Home Minister Amit Shah. The actress has requested with ‘’folded hands’’ for an  inquiry to understand what ‘prompted’ Sushant to take the extreme step. The 28 years old actor was earlier quizzed by the Bandra Police about his death and her relationship with him. Earlier,  noted TV and film actress Roopa Ganguly, also BJP, had called for CBI enquiry into his death claiming his Instagram account was being operated by someone. Roopa alleged that posts were being deleted from the late actor’s account in an attempt to tamper with evidence. Roopa Ganguly, who played Kunti in BR Chopra’s epic and memorable MAHABHARATA  TV serials, has posted a video on Twitter speaking in Hindi. “Nobody knows what is being added and what is being deleted. How come somebody is operating his account? Is it the Police or somebody else? How is it that his Instagram account is being operated now?” she asked amidst claim by ruling Shiv Sena of Maharashtra that the Patna born actor was not unemployed as reported in some circles. A lot of fans, Karni Sena and several political leaders including Bihar MP and Jan Adhikar Party’s Pappu Yadav have urged Home Minister Amit Shah seeking CBI inquiry into the matter.
