GURU Nanak Dev Ji’s Teachings Recalled At NY

The 550th birth Anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji , founder of  Sikhism, was celebrated in Consulate General of India in   New York on Tuesday, November, 12 2019 in the presence of  several  Indian –Americans and friends of  India .  Sandeep Chakravorty, Consul General, inaugurated a Photo-exhibition on Life & Philosophy of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Consul General spoke about relevance of the message and philosophy of Guru Nanak Devji and significant of Sangat and Pangat tradition which were started by Guru Nanak Devji.  Consulate also organized a Panel Discussion on “Contribution of Sikhs in America”. . Mandeep Singh, Managing Director, Geocom Capital; Ravi Batra, Attorney;Karambir Kang, Taj Hotels; Akashdeep Singh Sarpal, Country Head ICICI bank; Tajinder Singh, Publisher of Maha Punjab News Paper and Atma Singh, Member of Indian Community participated in the round table discussion and shared their views on the practical aspects of the teachings of Guru Nanak Devji.  The celebration of 550th birth Anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji ended with the traditional Langar. Incidentally,  the  550th birth anniversary of the seer born in Nankana Sahib now in Pakistan  is celebrated worldwide as Guru Nanak Gurpurab on Kartik Pooranmashi, the full-moon day in the month of Katak, October–November.Nanak travelled far and wide teaching people the message of one God who dwells in every one of His creations and constitutes the eternal Truth. He set up a unique spiritual, social, and political platform based on equality, fraternal love, goodness, and virtue.
