NARENDRA Modi Will Take Oath On May 30

PRESIDENT Ram Nath Kovind will administer the oath of office and secrecy to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other members of the Union Council of Ministers at 7 pm on May 30, 2019, at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Exercising powers vested in him under Article 75 (1) of the Constitution of India, President Ram Nath Kovind, on Saturday, May 25, appointed Narendra Modi to the office of Prime Minister of India. The President handed over the letter on Modi’s appointment when he called on him at Rashtrapati Bhawan during the day and staked claim for forming government. He has been assigned the task of heading the new government. Earlier, a delegation of NDA headed by BJP President Amit Shah handed over a letter of support of all the NDA Lok Sabha Members. Modi has been unanimously elected Parliamentary Party Leader of NDA mandating him to lead the next government at the centre. All the newly elected NDA Lok Sabha Members assembled at the historic Central Hall of Indian Parliament along with their parties’ heads for the election ahead of his meeting with the President. He earlier was elected BJP parliamentary party’s Leader. Veteran BJP leaders Lal Krishna Advani and Dr Murli Manohar Joshi blessed Modi and wished him for the second innings.“I am happy to announce that the BJP parliamentary party has unanimously elected Narendra Modi as its leader,” BJP president Amit Shah announced. Veteran Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader and former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal moved a resolution to elect Modi as the leader of the NDA parliamentary party which was supported by Janata Dal-United (JD-U) president and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Ram Vilas Paswan and other leaders of the NDA.  Leaders of all the alliance parties, including Nitish Kumar, Ram Vilas Paswan, and Uddhav Thackeray were also present. Thanking the alliance partners for the support, BJP president Amit Shah said, “Modi is the symbol of hope and so people chose to elect him once again.””Poor in the country got a sense of hope as they have seen delivery of government schemes at grassroots level.”Shah said this election is a perfect case of electing a leader… people chose a leader. Amit Shah said the Modi took decisions only keeping in mind the welfare of the country and not for vote bank politics. In his speech, Modi thanked both MPs of BJP as well as alliance parties.”We will begin a new journey with new vigour,” Modi said. Modi said all of you led this change in Indian politics. He thanked Election Commission and all those involved in conducting the mammoth exercise of voting. Before speaking, Modi bowed before a copy of the Constitution. “People have accepted us because of our deep sense of service to people.”The 2019 election was a symbol of unity, Modi said, adding it has united people. In this election, people have become partner in democracy as they travelled with the government between 2014 and 2019, Modi said. Modi said national ambition and regional aspirations are two pillars of NDA’s march towards country’s progress.PM Modi and BJP President visited their home state on Sunday and were  felicitated on their  historic  and decisive victory in the  just concluded Parliamentary elections.PM Modi will visit Varanasi on Monday to complement the people  for electing him for two successive terms as Lok Sabha Member.BJP , which had won 282 seats in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, managed to increase its tally totalling 303 seats in the 2019 elections. This will be the first time in India’s political history when a non-Congress party has managed to secure a majority on its own for the second consecutive term after Indira Gandhi had won in 1971. India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru had also performed that feat.
