Abhishek Banerjee Appointed National Gen Secy Of TMC

Ending speculation, Abhishek Banerjee,33, has been appointed National  General Secretary of the All-India Trinamool Congress in a major organizational reshuffle announced in Kolkata. He represents the Diamond Harbour Lok Sabha constituency in the South  24 Parganas district of  West Bengal since 2014. He virtually becomes number 2 in the  TMC which has returned to power for the third successive term. Abhishek, the nephew of Chief Minister  Mamata Banerjee, has played an instrumental role in working out his party’s strategy along with PK for the just-concluded assembly elections held in eight phases.  Abhishek Banerjee has stepped down as in-charge of the TMC youth wing. This position is now given to actor-turned-politician Saayoni Ghosh. TMC has endorsed the ‘one person one post’ policy, said senior Minister  Partha Chatterjee. Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, MP, is now president of TMC’s Mahila Morcha. First-time MLA Raj Chakraborty has been made in charge of the party’s cultural cell. CM Mamata Banerjee says the All-India Trinamool Congress takes a new step towards effective leadership. Going forward, we shall be committed towards being a One Person One Post party. Once again, our commitment to serve the people of India in the best way possible remains a top priority, she says in a tweet. MP Dola Sen is now the national president of the Indian National Trinamool Trade Union Congress (INTTUC). The Trinamool working committee has not yet come to a decision regarding turncoats who quit the party to join the BJP shortly before the recent state assembly elections,.
