MESSI Joins Paris Saint- Germain FC

Lionel Messi, the world’s most decorated scorer, has signed a two-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) with the option of an additional year. He has arrived in the French capital to a tumultuous welcome after snapping 21 years of association with Europe’s fabled Barcelona FC. The 6-time Ballon d’Or winner since 2003, has played 778 games for the Catalan club scoring 672 goals. The 34 years old  National captain of Argentina ahead of the 2020 World Cup will wear the number 30, the number he had when he began his professional career at Barca. “I am excited to begin a new chapter of my career at Paris Saint-Germain,” he said in a statement on the club’s website. “Everything about the club matches my football ambitions,” Messi added. “I know how talented the squad and the coaching staff are here. I am determined to help build something special for the club and the fans, and I am looking forward to stepping out onto the pitch at the Parc des Princes”. Incidentally, Paris Saint-Germain popularly called Paris SG or PSG is a professional football club founded in 1970  is based in Paris. They compete in Ligue 1, the top division of French football. PSG is France’s most successful club, having won more than 40 official honours, including nine league titles and one major European trophy.
