BENGALURU born  Rhea Chakravarty, 27, was interrogated in Mumbai’s  Bandra Police Station for about 9 hours on Thursday, June 18 in connection with the prima facie suicide committed by Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput four days ago. She was rumoured girlfriend of Sushant Singh Rajput who was originally from Bihar. The cause for his hanging himself in his Bandra’s rented residence is stated to be depression. As his friends and kin alleged that the cause of his depression is maltreatment by some film industry biggies, the Police are looking into all angles. He did not belong to any filmi gharana and hence, was a persona non grata in the Mecca of Indian cinema, they said. Rhea, according to Mumbai media, said that she was living with Sushant,34 and that they were looking for a property together as they planned for getting married in November. The actress’s entire phone was scanned along with pictures and videos and texts exchanged between them. When the cops asked her about their alleged breakup days before Sushant’s suicide, the actress revealed that she had indeed left the Carter Road penthouse they shared amid lockdown after a fight. Rhea, however, maintained that they kept in touch with each other on phone and texts even after the fight, while showing it to authorities. Rhea happened to be the last person the actor called before going to sleep on a fateful night. On Wednesday, police recorded the statement of Bollywood casting director Mukesh Chhabra, who was also close to Rajput. According to the police, Sushant was depressed and was also taking medication for the same. The police were trying to understand the reasons behind his depression. The police have recorded statements of more than 10 people, including the actor’s family members. Earlier, Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, a Congress  Lawmaker, had gone on record saying the Mumbai Police will also probe the angle of “professional rivalry” which was alleged to be the cause of the suicide.
