BSP Activists Are Miffed With Jana Kalyan Party

SEVERAL  Andhra Pradesh  Bahujan Samaj Party leaders  have  reservation  about  extending support  to the Jana Sena  led by actor-producer  turned politician  Pawan Kalyan  saying his party was not fair while  allocating  seats to  BSP.BSP is confident of winning   several seats in the southern state where assembly and Lok Sabha elections are being conducted simultenously. The Deccan Chronicle reports the BSP leaders have gone on record saying that Jana Sena might not even get their deposits back in many of the constituencies it is contesting including the Assembly and Lok Sabha segments. The Jana Sena , which supported  BJJP in the  last elections ,is miffed with it for  denying AP  special  category status and is critical of the ruling TDP  for  corruption .Pawan Kalyan , 48, led  Jana Sena and the Mayawati led BSP joined hands to fight the elections and the Jana Sena had allocated 21 seats to the BSP. But now many of the BSP leaders and candidates feel they have been let down by the Jana Sena leadership. They are also angry with their high command who they claim did not consult them regarding the alliance. They consider seats such as Kovvuru, Paderu and many other constituencies in East and West Godavari districts as potential winning bases which weren’t allotted to them. On Thursday, BSP state coordinator Bhirsingh met some of the leaders in Amravati. The leaders brought pressure on Mr Bhirsingh to change the arrangement with Jana Sena and allot BSP tickets to its winning candidates where the party is in strength. Otherwise, they would contest as rebels against Jana Sena. Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan visited Gajuwaka to file his nomination from the Assembly segment in Visakhapatnam district. Later, addressing an election rally, he said “We supported the Telugu Desam and the BJP in the last elections. Telugu Desam leaders started illegal land grabbing and the BJP betrayed us regarding special category status,” he said. We have fielded winning horses in the election race. By fielding former CBI joint director V.V. Lakshminarayana, YSRC leaders will not come for campaigning as they will shiver while facing him. In some places, we have fielded mass leaders. Our candidates are fielded based on who the opponents fielded. If they field an intellectual, we are doing the same,” he said. “Now YSRC is asking for votes and they are more dangerous than the TD. If the people vote YSRC, undoubtedly they will loot our houses too. They will not leave a piece of land or a single tree. With so many cases being filed on them, I’m surprised how they are still campaigning. Jagan Mohan Reddy very afraid of Prime Minister Narendra Modi because of the cases,” Mr Kalyan said.(image courtesy : Murli Krishna)
