HARNAAZ Sandhu Crowned Miss Universe

Harnaaz Sandhu, the 21 years old model from Chandigarh, has been crowned, Miss Universe.  She is the third Indian to have won the coveted title after Sushmita Sen in 1994 and Lara Dutta in 2000. Both of them later become film stars. Host Steve Harvey tells hundreds of millions of viewers in 172 countries who tuned in for live TV broadcasts to sit through the colorful function. Sandhu has worked in Punjabi films titled “Yaara Diyan Poo Baran” and “Bai Ji Kuttange”. Responding to the question what advice she would give to youngsters, she said  ‘’The biggest pressure the youth of today is facing is to believe in themselves, to know that you are unique and that’s what makes you beautiful. Stop comparing yourselves with others and let’s talk about more important things that are happening worldwide.” The 70th Miss Universe 2021 gala event was held in Eilat, Israel. Paraguay’s Nadia Ferreira and South Africa’s Lalela Mswane. Sandhu was presented the crown by Andrea Meza, former Miss Universe 2020 from Mexico. worldwide.” Born and grew up in Punjab, Harnaaz Sandhu attended Shivalik Public School and Post Graduate Government College for Girls in Chandigarh. She is currently pursuing her Masters’ degree in Public Administration. In 2019, she won the title of Femina Miss India Punjab 2019 then competed in Femina Miss India. She was in the top 12 in Femina Miss India. As per the rules and regularization, she will reside in New York and participate in several events across the globe. Close to 80 beauties from as many countries descended. Sandhu told reporters following her win that her family was unable to be with her at the competition due to the  Covid-19 restrictions.
