Amit Shah tests negative for Covid-19, says Manoj Tiwari; deletes tweet later

Home Minister Amit Shah has tweeted he has tested negative for coronavirus. He had been staying at the private hospital Medanta in Gurgaon close to Delhi. “Today my coronavirus test report has come negative. I thank God and at the moment I express my heartfelt gratitude to all those who have blessed me and my family by wishing me well. Will stay in home isolation for a few more days on the advice of doctors,”  Shah,55, said. In the tweet. “I also thank all the doctors and paramedical staff of Medanta Hospital who have helped me in fighting Corona infection and who have been treating me,” the Home Minister added. He was tested positive for coronavirus on August 2 and was admitted to the hospital following the advice of doctors. The minister had then requested those who had come in contact with him in the recent days to get tested for COVID and isolate themselves. Several other public figures has tested positive for COVID. They included Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister of State for Agriculture Kailash Choudhary and Shiromani Akali Dal MP Naresh Gujral, BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia, Sambit Patra, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa, Tamil Nadu Congress leader Siddaramaiah and his son Yathindra Siddaramaiah.
