KISAN leaders blame radicals for violent tractor rally

Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) has called off Kisan Republic Day Parade with immediate effect and appealed to all participants to immediately return to their respective protest sites following several protesting farmers turned violent and clashed in several places of the national capital. Some groups also hoisted the Kisan flag at the rampart of the Red Fort, capital of India till the British took over the rein of the country. SKM announced the movement will continue peacefully& further steps will be discussed & decided soon. The government has deployed additional forces following groups of groups of farmers from the Punjab, Haryana and Western Uttar Pradesh entered the capital defying the prescribed timings and routes for the tractor rally. Police burst teargas shells and lathi-charged the unruly mob in some places. Internet and SMS services to remain suspended in the Sonipat, Palwal, and Jhajjar districts of Haryana till 5 pm tomorrow to check misinformation, as per an order issued by the Haryana government. The Delhi police rescued  200 stranded Republic Day artists from the Red Fort. CPI general secretary D Raja says violence is not the way to deal with the situation over farm laws, blames the Centre for letting things go out of hand. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar while chairing a high-level meeting today, has directed all Deputy Commissioners, Commissioners of Police, & Superintendents of Police to remain on ‘high alert’ to ensure the law & order situation in the state is not disturbed at any cost. His  Punjab counterpart Amarinder Singh has ordered high alert in Punjab, directs DGP to ensure law and order does not deteriorate.83 Police personnel were injured after being attacked by agitating farmers in Delhi today, said Delhi Police. Farmers’ movement is not for unfurling flag on Red Fort. “We condemn the action and dissociate ourself with these people”, said Kkuruganti, AIKSCC Working Group Member. By PKC
