Mahant Nritya Gopal Das will head Ram Mandir Trust with Champat Rai as General Secretary : Yogi govt allots 500 cr INR for infra development in Ayodhya

The first meeting of the 15-Member Shri Ramjanambhoomi Trith Kshetra Trust constituted by the Narendra Modi government was held in New Delhi on Wednesday, February 19 to work out modalities and speed up the process for construction of a grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Members were of the view that the construction can be started in April. Mahant Nritya Gopal Das has been elected President cum Managing Trustee and VHP leader Champ Rai General Secretary of the Shri Ramjanambhoomi Trith Kshetra Trust.PM Modi’s former Principal Secretary Narendra Misra is the head of the temple construction committee.  Ram Mandir Trust is tasked to oversee the construction of a Ram temple in his birth place Ayodhya is chief of the Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas, a trust formed by the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), for the construction of the temple, while Rai is a vice-president of the VHP. The government has nominated nine members on the trust including Jagatguru Shankracharya, Swami Vasudevanand Saraswati, Prasannatheerth, Yugpurush Paramanand, Govinddev Giri, Vimlendra Mohan Pratap Mishra (from royal family of Ayodhya), Anil Mishra homeopathic doctor from Ayodhya, Kameshwar Chaupal (laid the first foundation stone and schedule caste member of the trust), Mahant Dinendra Das of Nirmohi Akhara.Besides, additional secretary Home Ministry Gyanesh Kumar (as representative of the Centre), Avneesh Awasthy Additional Chief Secretary Uttar Pradesh (as representative of the state government) and Ayodhya District Magistrate  Anuj Kumar Jha. All the 15 members attended the meeting. It has also been decided to open an account in the Ayodhya Branch of the State Bank of India for receiving donations. Swami Govind Dev Giri of Pune will function as Treasurer. The next meeting is likely to be held in a fortnight in Ayodhya. Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh Government to develop Ajodhya as a tourist destination has provided 500 crore INR in its budget for 2020-21. The state government proposes to spend 85 crore INR for infrastructure development and renovation of Tulsi Smarak Bhawan. The meet was held at the residence of Kesava Iyengar Parasaran, lawyer for Ramlala, in South Delhi’s Greater Kailash.
