NO Shortage Of Funds For Namami Ganga Project: Gadkari

UNION Minister for Water Resources Nitin Gadkari has said there is lack of funds for the implementation of projects under Namami Gange.NDA Government is for implementation of the ambitious project for the benefit of people. After laying the foundation for and inaugurating a slew of national highway projects worth nearly Rs 5,555 crore, Gadkari made the announcement while addressing a gathering at Chandi Ghat. There is no dearth of funds for the Namami Gange projects aimed at cleaning the river and maintaining its uninterrupted flow and the Centre will ensure that nothing impedes their implementation.” Ban Ganga in Laksar will be revived to add to the flow of water in the Ganga,” he said.The also sought individual monetary contribution from people to the mission assuring them that their contribution will be credited straight into the Namami Gange accounts. National Highway projects whose foundation stones were laid by Gadkari included Haridwar-Laltappar, Laltappar-Mohkampur, Purkaji-Laksar-Haridwar, Haridwar-Nagina, Roorkee-Chutmalpur-Gagalhedi, Chutmalpur-Ganeshpur roads besides construction of a bridge over Mayapuri scap channel on Haridwar national highway.Reconstructed Roshnabad-Biharigarh motor road and three bridges on Jollygrant-Thano-Raipur-Sahastradhara road.
