PM Modi’s call for JANATA CURFEW & self-restraint to stop COVID-19 appreciated by leaders across political affiliations

PRIME Minister Narendra Modi’s call for observing JANATA CURFEW from 7 am IST to 9 pm IST on Sunday, March 22 and self-restraint to fight coronavirus has been widely hailed across the nation including by several Bollywood baggies. In Delhi, Metro services will not be available during the Janata curfew. Some states have also announced stoppage of public transport during the period.PM Modi said JANATA CURFEW will be part of preventive measures being taken to discourage gatherings. In the same breadth in a nationwide broadcast, he emphatically said there is no shortage of essential commodities and advised the senior citizens to remain indoors. People should go out only when it is essential. All essential services will be functional as usual, PM Modi added. He asked people to stay indoors and work from home as much as possible while underscoring the dangers of coronavirus recalling the world has never seen a crisis as grave as this. “Even World War I and II did not affect as many countries as coronavirus has.” Modi said. People should avoid the perception that the disease will not affect India much when it has hit hard many developed countries and asked people not to hoard items in panic. Appreciation medical professionals, sanitation staff, airline crews, delivery persons and media personnel and others for their hard and sincere services, PM Modi asked people to express gratitude to them by giving them a five-minute standing ovation at 5 pm on Sunday by clapping hands, beating plates or ringing out bells.
