SHAKTIKANTA Das, Governor of Reserve Bank of India, has been tested Covid -19  positive. In a Tweet, he says he is asymptomatic and feeling ‘’very much all right’ ’He has requested all those who have come into contact with him to get tested without further delay. He is in touch with all Deputy governors and other officers through telephone and VC, he said and added normal functioning in India’s central bank will not be impacted. Retired IAS Officer, Das,63, hailing from Odisha, is the 25th governor of the RBI after being appointed by ACC on December 11, 2018. He belonged to the 1980 batch of  Indian Administrative Service (IAS)  of Tamil Nadu cadre. Meanwhile, Government claims that  COVID-19 recovery rate has touched 90 percent in India while 6,68,154 active cases in the country account for 8.50 percent of the total caseload. He is assisted by four deputy governors– BP Kanungo, MK Jain, MD Patra and M Rajeshwar Rao. Shaktikanta Das along with his colleagues had been on his toes to restore  Covid -19 induced economy with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
