Swearing Of Tripura BJP Govt Is Likely On Thursday: BIPLAB Kumar Deb Named CM & Jishnu Deb Burma Dy CM

AS expected, Biplab Kumar Deb, 48, President of Tripura BJP with a background in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), was today named as the chief minister of Tripura. Making the announcement in Agartala Union Minister for Shipping Transport Nitin Gadkari said Tuesday Biplab Kumar Deb to be the chief ministerial candidate for Tripura.” Jishnu Deb Burman has been named as the deputy CM of Tripura. After the announcement, Biplab Kumar Deb said, “Jishnu Deb Burman will work with me as the deputy CM of Tripura.” Deb Burman is a descendant of the ex-royal family He is Convener of BJP’s Janajati Morcha or Tribal unit .The new government will be sworn in on March 8.BJP and in alliance with the Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura inhabited by indigenous Tribals and Bengalis migrated from Bangladesh. The meeting of the legislature party of BJP and IPF has taken the decision on the CM and the Deputy CM. BJP on its own got 35 seats and a 43 per cent vote share. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president Amit Shah are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony. Political analysts say both tribal and backward people, who were among the worst affected economically and socially, have helped the Saffron party overthrow the Marxist regime. Of the 20 seats reserved for Tribals in the 60-Member State Legislative Assembly, the Left has won two as opposed to the 19 seats it had won in the last elections five years ago. Meanwhile, CPI-M has alleged that “widespread attacks are being reported on our comrades and party offices” since Saturday, while the BJP alleged that CPI-M activists, too, “assaulted” 49 of its party supporters, 17 of whom had to be hospitalized. A statue of Communist revolutionary hero Lenin was yesterday destroyed by a group of people, many of them wearing saffron shirts and chanting “Bharat mata ki jai”. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh telephonically asked Governor Tathagata Roy and top police officials to control the situating. Rajnath asked them to ensure peace until the new government assumes office. Incidentally, Biplab Kumar Deb, born in a middle class family at Rajdhar Nagar village in Gomati district, after graduation from Udaipur College in the state, left for Delhi to join the RSS. He had   served the right-wing organization for around 16 years under the guidance of prominent R S S leaders Govinda Acharya and Krishna Gopal Sharma.
