THERE Is No Move To Shift Aero Show From Bengaluru To Lucknow: Nirmala Sitharaman

AMIDST accusation made by Karnataka Chief Minister  H D Kumaraswamy and other responsible  members  of the ruling  parties that prestigious Aero show was being  moved to Lucknow from Bengaluru, BJP has rubbished   the allegation as unfounded .Defence Nirmala Sitharaman says  there is  no  such move  to  move the  international  event  to the  capital city  of BJP  ruled Uttar Pradesh. Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Ananth Kumar elected to Parliament from the southern state says in a statement the Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had confirmed that there was no decision as being claimed by the Karnataka CM .Kumaraswamy had shot off a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi insisting that Bengaluru would be the “best choice” for the biennial aerospace exhibition.”There is no decision on shifting Aero India 2019 venue out of Bengaluru to Lucknow, as clarified by Defence Min officials. I have spoken to her who has confirmed the same. There were similar rumours last time too, which were proved to be unfounded,” Kumar is the Lok Sabha MP from Bangalore South constituency. Aero India has traditionally been organised at the Indian Air Force’s Yelahanka Air Base on the outskirts of Bengaluru since its inception in 1996. The state Congress has written to Sitharaman, asking her to protect the interests of the state by retaining the exhibition in Bengaluru as she was a Rajya Sabha member from the state.

Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara had alleged that Karnataka was losing key defence projects to other states under the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) rule.

Opposition leader in the state Assembly B S Yeddyurappa says The BJP MPs and central ministers from the state would make all efforts to retain the show in Bengaluru by putting pressure on the Centre. AERO INDIA (Air conference) is scheduled to be held in February, 2019 in Bangalore but dates are to be announced.  The event provides an opportunity to the manufacturers and others concerned showcase their innovative aviation equipment & technologies as well as to discover new technological trends and developments in the aerospace industry in South Asia and all over the world.
