AHEAD of the  June 19 Rajya Sabha poll, power politics has heated up in Madhya  Pradesh with an aspiring lady politician complaining that her daughter-in-law was denied ticket to contest for the state legislative poll despite giving  INR  50 lakh to a person close to Maharaja of Gwalior and ex-senior Congress leader  Joytiraditya Scindia. He had walked out of India’s  GOP and is now in the ruling BJP with his loyalists. He is contesting the Rajya Sabha biennial elections as a BJP candidate. A video in which the accusation is made has been posted on social media.  The Congress leader is from Ashok Nagar. BJP has rubbished the allegation. Congress party has lodged a complaint with  ADG, Gwalior, for a probe into the audio clip. The same day, another senior Congress leader accused Scindia of selling tickets for the Hoshangabad Assembly seat in return for Rs one crore. In the audio clip,  Aneeta Jain, a senior corporator from Ashoknagar in  Guna Parliamentary Constituency,  is heard complaining to Maharaj that she had offered Rs 50 lakh to one ‘Parsul Agrawal’ as asked by (Purushottam) Parashar (for ticket). Purushottam Parashar is the Personal Assistant of Scindia. Jain who was reportedly seeking an assembly ticket for her daughter in law Asha Dohare but she wasn’t offered the ticket by the party. Scindia in the audio clip tries to make Jain understand as to why the ticket wasn’t allotted saying it was due to the policy of then Congress president Rahul Gandhi that those who lost in 2013 pols with a margin of 3,000 to 5,000 votes were offered ticket in 2018 and he was helpless as it was a party decision. He, however, assures Jain that he will safeguard her interests once Congress’s government comes to power shortly. This conversation was before the  2018 assembly polls in the state, says The Pioneer. Congress party’s Gwalior region by-polls charge KK Mishra called on the ADG Rajababu Singh and lodged complaint seeking an FIR into the matter and a probe into the veracity of the audio clip. “In the audio clip, Scindia is heard explaining the ticket denial to Jain but did not utter a word on Rs 50 lakh mentioned by ticket seeker which indicates that money transaction was done with his approval,” Mishra told media. Seeking formation of Special Investigation Team into the audio clip, the Congress party has demanded recording of statements of those mentioned in the audio clip including Scindia, Aneeta Jain, Parashar and Agarwal as BJP leader Pankaj Chaturvedi has termed the audio clip fake. Mishra urged the police to summon Chaturvedi with the report of the test on the basis of which the latter pronounced the clip fake. On the delay in raising the issue, Mishra said the Gwalior-Chambal region is just free after Scindia moved to BJP and people have started raising their voice. Chaturvedi, a Jyotiraditya Scindia supporter told media that the audio clip was fake.  Chaturvedi slams the main opposition saying how without any probe Congressmen assume that the tape is genuine.
