Ever ready to safeguard nation’s sovereignty: Air chief Bhadauria

Addressing air warriors at a ceremony at Ghaziabad’s Hindon airbase, Indian Air Force chief Marshal  Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria commended the force for a quick response in the recent standoff on the northern frontiers in Ladakh. IAF  stands ever ready to protect the nation’s sovereignty and interests ‘in all circumstances,’ he said. The IAF is undergoing a transformational change. “As we enter the 89th year, the IAF is undergoing a transformational change. We are entering an era which will redefine where we employ aerospace power and conduct integrated multi-domain operations,” he said. “I want to assure the nation the IAF will evolve and be ever ready to safeguard our nation’s sovereignty and interests,” the air chief further said. Chief of Defence Staff, General Bipin Rawat, army chief General MM Naravane and navy chief Admiral Karambir Singh also attended the ceremony.

A large number of commoners participated with the nation’s air warriors as the Indian Air Force (IAF) celebrated its 88th foundation day at Hindon airbase in UP’s Ghaziabad. IAF Chief Air Chief Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria inspected the 88th parade at the airbase. ‘Nishan Toli’ was led by Squadron Leader Shivangi Rajawat. IAF was established on October 8, 1932, under colonial rule. It was given the prefix  ‘Royal’ by King George VI for its contribution during the Second World War. The prefix was later dropped in 1950 when India became a republic. The newly-inducted Rafale fighter aircraft featured in the Air Force Day parade. The annual parade included air display of various aircraft. Along with other aircraft, the Rafale aircraft also took part in the Air Force Day parade. Recently the Rafale fighter jet carried out a minimum radius turn within an area smaller than a hockey field forming a figure of eight at the airbase.

Akash Ganga Sky diving team of the Indian Air Force displayed skills on the occasion. Recently inducted Rafale fighters of Indian Air Force releasing flares during a flypast. Sarang aerobatic team of the Indian Air Force displayed skills. Marching contingents of Indian Air Force arrived at the venue Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria inspected  guard of honour on the occasion. Marching contingents of Indian Air Force passed the saluting dais. Visitors thronged near the parked Rafale fighter to have a glimpse of the aircraft on the occasion
