FIR lodged against Tejashwi, Tej Pratap for killing a Dalit Leader

AN FIR has been registered against RJD leaders Tejaswi Prasad Yadav, Tej Pratap Yadav, sons of  Lalo Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi, and four others for the murder of Dalit leader Shakti Malik in Bihar’s  Purnea district ahead of assembly elections.  A video in which Malik accused Tejashwi Prasad Yadav of seeking Rs 50 lakh as a donation for the RJD for a ticket to contest the poll from Raniganj seat and threatening to eliminate him if he continues with his good work in the constituency has gone viral. Superintendent of Police of Purnea Vishal Sharma has confirmed the FIR. Three bike-borne men entered Malik’s house in Purnea this morning and shot him in the head killing him on the spot. The ruling JD(U) headed by Nitish Kumar  has alleged that Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav has exposed his true colours before the nation. Repeated efforts to reach senior RJD leaders for  reaction were unsuccessful. A country-made pistol and an empty cartridge were found from the spot, K Haat police station House Officer Sunil Kumar Mandal said. Superintendent of Police Vishal Sharma and Sadar Sub-Divisional Police Officer Anand Pandey visited the spot. My husband was feeding our child in the courtyard this morning when 3 masked goons made their way inside the house and shot him dead. They ran away in no time,” said Khushboo Devi, wife of Shakti Malik. In the video, Malik claimed that he along with the RJD’s SC/ST cell state unit president had met Tejashwi Prasad Yadav in Patna where the RJD leader sought Rs50 lakh as a donation to give him a party ticket to contest the Raniganj assembly constituency.
