I D Celebration: final rehearsal held

The full dress rehearsal was held at the historic Red Fort in Delhi for the 74th Independence Day celebrations on August 15. The Independence Day Ceremony will be celebrated as per the lockdown protocols. Since 1947, Independence Day’s  National celebrations are held at the same venue. Prime Minister Narendra Modi as in the previous years will hoist the National Flag and address the nation like his predecessors from the rampart of Red Fort. The Red Fort built by Emperor Sah Jahan was the capital of India under the Mughal regime till it was taken over by the British. Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory to ensure safe and smooth vehicular movement across the national capital. Delhi traffic police have said roads will be closed for general traffic on August 15 from 4 AM IST to 10 AM IST on Netaji Subhash Marg, Lothian Road, S P Mukherjee Marg, Chandni Chowk Road, Ring Road from Rajghat to ISBT and its Link Road.
In view of the Covid-19 situation, Delhi police have requested the invitees to follow guidelines issued by the Home Ministry and Health Ministry while they are in the function area at Red Fort. The number of invitees will be restricted keeping in view the coronavirus.
