MP Mimi Chakraborty Sick After Taking ‘Fake’ Covid-19 Vaccine

AS senior sleuths of Kolkata Police are on their toes probing the fake vaccination drive organised in the Southern part of the megacity, ruling party’s Lok Sabha MP Mimi Chakravarty is reportedly under treatment after jabbed four days ago in the same camp. She busted the supposed coronavirus disease (Covid-19) vaccination site. She was already administered her jab by the time the police were informed. She became suspicious of the process and informed the police, eventually leading to the fraudulent operation being busted.

Mimi, a professional film actress turned politico, had earlier informed the people through social media the vaccines used at the camp have been sent to the lab for testing and results are expected in the next 4-5 days. Debanjan Deb Impersonating as an IAS officer organised two vaccine camps in the city where thousands of people had been jabbed. After the operation was busted, the cops seized fake labels pasted on several vials of an antibiotic injection used in place of the vaccines. Bangla TV channels report her medical complications to include acute stomach ache and profuse sweating. Although she has received medical advice to get herself admitted to a hospital, Mimi has opted for home treatment.

Meanwhile, BJP leader Suvendhu Adhikari has alleged that the mastermind Debanjan is close to several ruling TMC leaders. Debanjan moved around in a blue-beacon SUV and reportedly organised several events which were attended by some TMC leaders. Among the people who received ‘fake’ vaccines at the camps organised by him were students and professors of City College Kolkata.

Debanjan had befriended powerful people. His Twitter account described him as a “public servant”. He had built such a network that he was even invited to blood donation camps and other social welfare works conducted by the police and social clubs in the city. His photos with top TMC leaders and police officials have been doing the rounds on social media since his arrest. He himself posted several photographs with senior politicians, including Firad Hakim, who is also the chairman of the board of administrators of the KMC, Panchayat and Rural Affairs Minister Subrata Mukherjee and MP Santanu Sen. All of them have not only denied any connection with him but have also lodged FIRs. Edited by PKC
