PARLIAMENTARIANS pay homage to Netaji

PARLIAMENTARIANS led by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla
and Union Minister for Defence Rajnath Singh paid floral
tributes at the portrait Netaji Subash Chandra Bose on his birth
anniversary on January 23. Leader of Opposition (Rajya
Sabha) Ghulam Nabi Azad, several former lawmakers,
Secretaries-General of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha Utpal
Kumar Singh and Desh Deepak Verma respectively also paid
tributes at the Central Hall of Parliament. A booklet containing
the profile of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, brought out in Hindi
and English by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, was presented to
the dignitaries. The portrait of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose
was unveiled by the then President of India, Dr. N. Sanjiva
Reddy, in the Central Hall of Parliament House on 23 January 1978. At a separate function, President Ramnath Kovind
unveiled Netaji’s statute in the Rashtrapati Bhawan.
