PM Modi compliments people and state govts for unitedly fighting ncoronavirus

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that India’s fight against Corona is people-driven and along with the people, the government and the administration are fighting the pandemic. Speaking his Mann Ki Baat over  All India Radio on Sunday, April 26,PM  Modi said, each and every citizen of the country is a soldier in this battle and they are leading the battle. He lauded the resolve of the people for voluntarily coming forward to help each other during the nation’s war on coronavirus. From arranging food for the needy, to supply of rations, compliance of lockdown, from arrangements in hospitals to manufacturing medical equipment indigenously, the entire nation is marching ahead together Modi said and urged people not to get caught in the trap of over-confidence and not harbour feeling that if corona has not yet reached their city, village, street or office, it is not going to reach now. PM  Modi said ‘Do Gaz doori hai zaroori’ should be our mantra and people should maintain a distance of two yards and keep themselves healthy. He cautioned that, in over-enthusiasm, there should be no negligence at the local level or elsewhere and people always have to remain .The Prime Minister said, many positive changes are organically making their way into the work culture, lifestyle and daily habits of people. The effect that is most visible around is wearing a mask and covering the face. Mr. Modi said, in the changed paradigm due to Corona, masks are becoming a part of the lives of people. He said, masks will now become a symbol of cultured society. If people want to save themselves and others from disease, they will have to wear a mask. He also suggested people to use a Gumchha or a light towel to cover the face.

PM  Modi exhorted people to shun complacency on the assumption that the COVID-19 pandemic will not affect them as it has so far not spread to areas they work or live in, saying “we have to continue being careful and taking the right precautions”.  India’s fight against the novel coronavirus has become people-driven wherein every citizen is playing his or her part. Be it businesses, offices, education institutes or medical sector, everyone is adapting to changes in the post-coronavirus world, he said. India’s decision to supply medicines to countries which needed them amid the COVID-19 pandemic was guided by its ethos, he said, adding that he feels very proud when world leaders thank India and its people for the assistance. In his over 30-minute-long address, Modi hailed the contribution of state governments in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, saying they have played a very active role.
