“PRINCE OF Kolkata” turns 49

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and other personalities from various walks of life wished BCCI President Sourav Ganguly on his 49th birthday on Thursday, July 8. Mamata Banerjee had travelled to his residence at South Kolkata’s Behala locality and was with him and his family for some time.  Virender  Sehwag, India’s former international cricketer who played under Ganguly’s captainship wished the former India captain Ganguly in a witty manner. Nicknamed ‘Prince of Kolkata’  Ganguly had led the team to many famous victories in his career as a player and groomed several youngsters including Mahendra Singh Dhoni who later successfully captained Indian blue. Iconic batsman turned cricket commentator  Sachin Tendulkar, who was his opening partner, had a special wish for him. He wrote, “My beloved Dadi. Happy birthday. Wishing you a healthy and happy year ahead.” Mohammad Kaif said ‘’When Dada led you on to the field, you somehow felt taller. Happy Birthday to the captain who patted your back when you did well and put a hand around your shoulder when you didn’t. The BCCI  boss cut  Birthday Cake in the presence of his family member and well-wishers wishing Indian Contingent the best of  Luck in the upcoming Tokyo Olympics. Speaking to reporters he said that not being able to host the T20 World Cup is regretful as the Covid situation came out of nowhere.
