SUSHANT Singh Rajput case: Nitish govt recommends CBI probe; Sena, Congress oppose

Bihar government has recommended  CBI inquiry into the alleged suicide of actor Sushant Singh Rajput,34, in his Mumbai flat on June  14 after his family members, several lawmakers and other prominent persons have expressed dissatisfaction over the probe being conducted by the Mumbai Police. His  Bihar and Mumbai based kin and acquaintances have rejected the suicide theory following depression as being claimed by the investigators. The Mumbai Police have stonewalled the ongoing inquiry ordered by the Bihar Police on the basis of an FIR lodged by Dr KK Singh, SSR’s Patna based father, saying the Bihar Police has no locus standi or jurisdiction over the case. Meanwhile, Bengaluru born Rhea Chakraborty, claimed to the late actor’s girlfriend,  mentioned as the prime suspect in the FIR, is yet to record her statement as sought by the Bihar Police. Forcible quarantine of Patna (Central)  SP Vinay Tiwari, IPS, deputed to lead the Bihar police team has been condemned by Chief  Minister Nitish Kumar and state DIG. BJP. MLA Neeraj Kumar Bablu thanked Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for recommending the CBI inquiry and said that now the truth will come out. On Monday, the Sushant Singh suicide case was raised in the Bihar assembly and almost all lawmakers demanded  CBI inquiry into the matter. Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has registered a money laundering case involving the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Chartered Accountant Sandeep Sridhar was quizzed by ED. It said that the agency has summoned Sushant’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty’s CA Ritesh Shah for questioning. The action comes in the wake of a case registered by the ED on Friday against Rhea and her family members. The ED has registered a money laundering case over transactions worth Rs 15 crore related to the alleged suicide of Sushant. The ED on Thursday sought details of the FIR registered against Rhea,28 years old actor VJ, by the Bihar Police and the details of two companies owned by Sushant and Rhea’s family from the banks. The ED has also sought details of the financial transactions of Vividrage Rhealityx, in which Rhea is a director, and Front India For World, in which her brother Showik is a director, the source added.
