UEFA Champions League: Ronaldo remains Coronavirus Positive, say media
Star striker Cristiano Ronaldo of Portuguese origin, is likely to remain benched by Juventus in their Champions League game against Barcelona on October 29 following testing positive second time for Covid-19. His millions of fans across the globe are praying for the recovery of Ronaldo, considered an illustrious and record-breaking footballer honoured with five Ballons d’Or and four European Golden Shoes. The game would have seen the former Real Madrid attacker Ronaldo play against his greatest foe, Lionel Messi, Brazilian national professional soccer hero credited with making several records in the football world. Ronaldo has opted for self-quarantine since he was diagnosed with Covid -19 positive and missed at least two games for the Bianconeri, the nickname for Juventus. The 35-year-old again received a positive result after a test carried out on Wednesday, Sky Sport Italia and Gazzetta Dello Sport reported. As per the UEFA rules, Ronaldo needs to test negative 24 hours before the game with the Spanish professional football team to be played in Turin for including him in the squad. He will also miss this weekend’s Serie A game against Verona and he will not be happy to miss the clash against Barcelona. Juventus, Italy’s second-oldest soccer club founded in 1893, did all that they could to ensure that the Portuguese attacker didn’t miss the game. Lionel Messi, his greatest professional rival, hoped Ronaldo recovers from COVID-19 and participate in his team for the Juventus versus Barcelona clash. edited by PK Chakravarty
