CSK Lift 2018 IPL Championship Beating Hyderabad Sunrisers

RESUMING participation after a 22-year ban, The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has won the 2018 championship of The 11th edition of Indian Cricket League abbreviated as IPL, stated to be world’s most cash rich T 20 tournament. The CSK had earlier lifted the IPL title in 2010, 2011 .They have the best win percentage among all teams in the IPL (61.56). All-rounder Shane Watson single-handedly hammered Sunrises Hyderabad into submission with a blazing hundred in the final. CSK outplayed SRH by eight wickets with Watson’s unbeaten 117 off 57 balls in a high-pressure game being the icing on the cake. CSK dominated the game to humble formidable SRH led by Williamson four times in as many games this season. The MS Dhoni-captained Supper Kings side had entered seventh IPL final and their stellar campaign ended with a record equalling third title, tying them up with Mumbai Indians. Undoubtedly, the star of the jam-packed stadium was Shane Watson, 36.He had previously won the title with Rajasthan Royals in the 2008 inaugural season.RR has also made a come- back to the IPL after ending two-year suspension. Super Kings hold the records of most appearances in the IPL playoffs (nine) and in the final (seven). They have also won the Champions League Twenty20 in 2010 and 2014.  The team  captained by Mahendra Singh Dhoni and coached by Stephen Fleming beat Sunrisers Hyderabad to win third IPL title in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium on Sunday .Shane Watson scoring 117 unbeaten runs  helped Chennai Super Kings chase down 179-run target in 18.3 overs. It was Watson’s second century of the season. Watson and Suresh Raina added 117 runs for the second wicket. Chennai Super Kings stood up to their reputation of being one of the best teams in the IPL. After the victory, Dhoni’s men celebrated their title win in style.  Put in to bat, Yusuf Pathan’s unbeaten 45 runs off 25 balls along with Captain Kane Williamson’s 47 helped Sunrisers Hyderabad make 178 for the loss of 6 wickets.(image courtesy- india.com)
