Home Minister Amit Shah says he has tested positive for coronavirus

Union Home Minister Amit Shah says he has tested positive for coronavirus and is getting admitted to a hospital following the advice of doctors. Shah, 55, who has been assigned by PM Narendra Modi to coordinate all programs related to contain Covid-19, stated this on his Twitter handle on Sunday, August 2. “I have undergone a coronavirus test after showing initial symptoms and have tested positive. My health is fine but I am getting admitted to a hospital on the advice of doctors,” he tweeted in Hindi.HM Amit Shah has requested those who had come in contact with him in the last few days to get tested for coronavirus and isolate themselves. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has tweeted ‘’Heard about the Union Home Minister being tested positive for COVID-19. Wishing him a speedy recovery. My prayers are with him and his family! ’Senior BJP leader Dr Subramaniam Swamy says ’’am sorry to hear from news media that Amit Shah has to be admitted to hospital because he has tested positive for Coronavirus. I wish him a speedy recovery and pray for his early discharge from hospital.’’ Meanwhile,  Technical Education Minister of Uttar Pradesh Kamal Rani Varun, who died of coronavirus at Lucknow hospital, was today cremated at Kanpur’s Bhairo Ghat crematorium as per COVID-19 protocol.
