BADSHA Shows The Way to “Right to Good Health”
Barddhaman Development Society for Human Activities (BADSHA), Durgapur, West Bengal, an NGO working mainly with the distressed senior citizens, organised a Mega Seminar on “Right to Good Health” followed by the 17th Annual General meeting of the organisation on 8th May 2022. Along with the other events a Blood donation camp & health checkup camp was also organised. The program was inaugurated with the welcome address by Mr. Sukumar Roy, President of the organisation. The Blood donation camp was organised in association with Vivekananda hospital, Durgapur while the health checkup camp was organised in association with Nation Hospital, Durgapur. Dr. Debasish Bakshi, Director, Indian Research Institute for lntegrated Medicine (IRIIM) delivered an excellent speech on how to stay healthy, mentally as well as physically fit. Dr Debasish Chatterjee, Sub Divisional Disaster Management Officer, Dr. Partha Pal, Chief Medical Superintendent, The Mission Hospital, Durgapur, Dr. S.K. Sarkar Chief Medical Officer, Vivekananda hospital also delivered an outstanding speech on how to stay happy and healthy. Lok Sabha MP, Mr Sunil Mondal committed to extend his wholehearted support for the extension of the existing old age home. Mrs. Anindita Mukherjee, Mayor, Durgapur Municipal Corporation also gave her keynote address mentioning her close attachment with this old age home. Mr. Manabendra Mondal, the former Secretary, presented the Secretary’s report and Mr Prasanta Mondal, the former Treasurer placed the audit report in the house. The entire program was conducted by Dr. Debdas Karmakar, Assistant Secretary, BADSHA and a vote of thanks was given by Sri Sudeb Roy, Working President, BADSHA.
