KANNADA TV Actress Soujanya Found Dead

Soujanya, 25, popular  TV &  film actress of Karnataka, has allegedly committed suicide due to depression in her apartment in Bengaluru on September 30. Her body was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her room which was closed from inside. The investigation is underway. A noted Kannada TV serial actress, she has also starred in Telegu and Tamil movies. One four-page death note written in English and Kannada from her house has been recovered by the Police. She was mentally and financially worried following deteriorating health and the prevailing environment in the industry. Given the situation, she has no other option but to end her life as per her letter dated September 27, 28 and 30. As per the police, Soujanya decided to take her own life three days ago. The note also states that she does not blame anyone else for this step she was compelled to take and does not hold anyone responsible for her suicide. She has thanked all those people who have helped her. In the handwritten note, she has apologised to her parents for taking this extreme step. Earlier, the Kannada film industry lost actress Jayashree Ramaiah who also allegedly committed suicide due to depression at the age of 30 in Bengaluru on January 24, 2021. She was a contestant of Bigg Boss Kannada Season 3. Mainly starred in Kannada films.Covid-19 has adversely impacted livelihoods for those working in the entertainment industry like many others.
